Kasey owns and operates her 20-foot container as a short-term rental. That rental income allows her to pay off the container while still pocketing a good amount of monthly cashflow.

How Does Pricing Work for Stay Uncontained Container Homes?

Our custom-built container homes vary in price. A 20-foot container starts at $35,000, while a 40-foot container begins at $65,000. Prices reflect design choices, materials, and customization levels. Final costs depend on current material prices and design complexity. A 50% deposit is required to secure your spot in the build queue.

What Should I Consider Beyond the Base Price?

Beyond the base price, consider costs for design, engineering, unit upgrades, delivery, and installation. Site and foundation costs will vary based on location and scope. Complex or multi-container designs can increase the overall price due to labor intensity. You will also need to consider code accommodations for your area. These will vary.

Deluxe Build vs Standard Model

Choose between our standard and deluxe models. The standard model offers affordability and is based on popular designs, while the deluxe model includes more features.

Do I Need My Own Land?

You need to provide your own land. We specialize in constructing and modifying container homes for delivery to your chosen location. ‘Unrestricted land’ offers more flexibility for building.

Electrical and Plumbing Requirements

A local electric company should set up a main power line or a temporary pole near your home’s location. Post-delivery, a qualified electrician will need to finalize the power connection. Plumbing also requires professional connections post-delivery.

Foundation Options for Container Homes

You can choose from various foundations, including helical piers, railroad ties, gravel pads, or concrete slabs. Each has its benefits, and we can assist in connecting you with local experts.

What Type of Insulation Do You Use?

We utilize closed-cell spray foam insulation for its high R-value and effectiveness in preventing internal condensation.

Water Heating Options

Our container homes are equipped with compact, energy-efficient tankless water heaters, providing endless hot water while maximizing space.

Climate Control in Containers

Our containers are fitted with mini-split air conditioners with heat pumps, offering efficient temperature control.

Payment Options

We accept cash and cashier’s checks but prefer a wire transfer.

Additional Costs or Fees?

Consider shipping fees, which vary with distance, and sales tax based on the state of delivery. Shipping starts at $4/mi. All containers are shipped from San Antonio (78015).

Durability and Rust Prevention

Our containers are made of corrosion-resistant Corten steel, further protected by rust-resistant paint and primer.
